2:29,30 3696 Midland Ave., St. Paul. Bert built this house. It was white siding and red trim. Now it's stucco; it looked better before. There was a big lilac bush about where the left clothes poles are at the left of my photograph. I can close my eyes and see Ida marching out to cut a switch off the lilac bush for me; the time for negotiating was over. May 1941 - August 1943
